| How to become
a member If you would like
to become a member of Climb Shetland you need to fill out this
membership form and post it to us. In becoming a member, you
agree to the Club Constitution and to abide by the Club Rules.
Both of these are available online opposite. Membership for 2007/8 is
£26.50. This includes liability insurance whilst climbing with
the club, and subsidises use of the climbing wall.

I'm new to
climbing, can I join?
You are very
welcome to join the club as a beginner, but we recommend that
you gain some experience before you can expect to be able to
climb with us regularly outdoors. The club sessions at the
Clickimin Wall are an ideal way to gain that valuable experience
before getting out on the rock. To climb at the Clickimin you
must be inducted, see Clickimin Wall page
for details. We are also working with Pete Richardson, a
climbing instructor and outdoor representative for the council,
to provide climbing instruction where you will be able to learn the
basics of ropework, belaying and of course climbing.
We also ask that
your membership application is proposed and seconded by two
current members of Climb Shetland. If you do not yet know any of
us, it is best for you to come to a few sessions at the
Clickimin Wall before you send your application to us.
What are the
benefits of joining?
As a member, you will have the
opportunity to climb regularly at the indoor wall at a
discounted rate. The membership fee includes liability insurance
with the MCofS and gives you access to discounted travel
insurance through them amongst other benefits. During the summer
months club trips will take place to various new and exciting
venues throughout Shetland.
Regular Meets...
Regular meets will
be held throughout the summer months and on freak dry spells
in winter. Other than that, we will meet at the indoor wall
at least once a week.
Check the forum (Club Meets) for venue and times, and please
indicate if you intend to go.
