Abseiling with leg loop prussik

    I know not everyone abseils this way but I do and it’s an interesting point to bear in mind…

    Hmm, not seen anyone writing about that before. My Petzl harness has a loop at the end of the leg loop that I always put the prussic ‘biner through. Dunno if it’s rated to anything much, but it’s never gonna have a high load on it anyway.

    One would assume that it’s been an issue since self-locking harness buckles came on the scene!

    Yes, my harness is the same. The little loop is specifically for that purpose. Not all harnesses have it though. Backing up abseils is for pansies anyway. Bring back the shoulder abseil I say!
