#5003 |Ok so AGM late afternoon / evening on Sat 28th at Braewick cafe? Sounds fine to me (and Stu too). I’m staying in the Braewick wigwams on the 22nd and 23rd April so it will be starting to feel like home for me…
#5004 |Nice one. Maybe worth waiting for Pete, Julie and Andrew to confirm before we decide for sure, seeing as they’re on the committee.
#5005 |We could combine it with Redd Up in Calders Geo perhaps?
#5006 |Great idea – I’d vote for that. The Voar Redd Up is that weekend too. I was wondering about a venue anyway, too early in the season for the Grind, Ronas Voe would be a rush to get back to the cafe.
#5007 |Im working sat so will get there for the beer and camping/voeredup
#5008 |I’m for it as well. Transport will need arranging carefully if we want plenty of people, as no doubt some won’t want to stay the night.
#5010 |Yeah, that should be fine for me too. Good idea Al! š
“too early in the season for the Grind” This from the man that put up a new route at the Lighthouse last week! š
#5011 |So then, just to confirm before I put up a news item…
Sat 28th. Climb somewhere – not necessarily Eshaness. 5pm – meet at Braewick for food? AGM @ 7pm? Drinks and camping afterwards.
Sunday 29th. Bacon sarnies at Eshaness Hall. Voar Redd Up. Calders Geo and any other inaccessible Eshaness spots that we can think of! Holes of Scraada could also do with a quick clear up.
**You need to tell me if you’re planning to eat at Braewick so I can let them know numbers.
**You need to book through Braewick (01806 503345) if you want to camp or book a wigwam.Does that sound ok?
#5016 |Sounds great to me! Andy has put the word out to members that 28th is the likely date so I would think it’s fine to do a news item.
#5017 |The rest of the posts on this topic seem to have disappeared. Did I break something??!!
#5018 |Oh I get it now, there’s more than one page – doh!
#5019 |I just booked a wigwam! š
#5020 |The red one
#5022 |Yeah I just went off on my own little journey there…. I love the picture of the Grind BTW
#5024 |the pic shows that its a lot more stable than i thought
#5026 |The buttresses and ramp are pretty solid. It’s the floor and sides of the amphitheatre that take a battering according to an interesting analysis by Adrian Hall. Storm waves run up the ramp, become airborne and smash into the basin, opening up the cracks in the rock and tearing lumps off
