OK – wind SW 4-5. Where should we climb?

Deja vu – Didnt we just have one of those??!!? I,ve ordered some factor 25 weather, so the met office will be receiving a severe complaint if it misses us. What the choices for SW 4-5?

If you’re up for something different we could try some crags in the south (Fogla taing, Vaakel)? Ideal location for this wind direction. Or are there suitable crags on Bressay?

I would love to try the south crags Aurore, (either Fogla taing or Vaakel), not been to any of these before, happy to car/van pool. šŸ™‚

Fogla Taing would be great but there aren’t many easier lines there. Vaakel has a bit more scope for this I guess.

Actually, I quite fancy the Big-A crag on Bressay. I have a score to settle with it after an embarrassing episode last year when I cocked-up the gear, jammed a rope and had to be given a TR by Sawford. There must also be some new possibilities to keep you young people happy!

The Veng is another possibility if you’ve not been there.

I’ve been wanting to get to the Eshaness lighthouse crags of late but the wind might be just a wee bit strong.

yeah, wind might be coming in at the veng too? Eastern crags might be ok tho – not very familiar with them.

What way does the stuff you were looking at the other day down the Sooth end face, Al? Can’t remember which crag was half decent.
Or that stack thing down at Sumburgh?

Have never climbed on Bressay yet so keen on both. Haven’t a clue where the crags are there. After Fogla taing and vaakel we had a look around Scatness Andrew.

I’d be up for Vaakel – seen too much of Bressay lately

Scatness faces West, so not ideal… Blo Geo at Vaakel faces NE ish.

West as well. If this wind is bringing a bit of swell it’d be hard to get to.
