Random piece of trivia of the day!
Just noticed this in a route description at the Warie Gill:

    Wall of Sound 15m E1 5a *
The fine wall with well-spaced protection. Star just left of a funny grey hole. Climb the wall directly, past a peg runner, to finish up a short vague corner.
Wilson Moir, C Stewart. Aug 1988.

Anyone know of any other Shetland routes with in-situ pegs? None of Wilson’s other route descriptions seem to mention them. (Obviously there are some at the top of crags).

No I don’t. I used to put pegs in some routes round here but have since replaced them all with bolts. No ones noticed yet though.

Better check to see if there is now a bolt on the Wall of Sound route Andrew, or haven’t you got to that one yet Al?

No I don’t know of any other pegs. Some traditions are best left to die out …..;)
