anybody know the best way to wash a absail rope ?
Do a route at Eshaness Lighthouse in the winter. Job Done.
i think the prob is getting the salt out after.
Well i tend to just use warm water in a bath and repeat until the bottom of the bath doesn’t resemble a sandy beach any more. Don’t think soap is a good idea, unless a tiny amount of mild stuff. If you don’t have a bath, coil the rope around yourself and get in the shower. š
Think I used a washing machine once but make sure you daisy chain the rope first. Destroyed a few washing machines with heavy stuff though so won’t do that again.
No doubt there are several heated debates on UKC about this… In fact, just found an entire article on it! http://www.ukclimbing.com/articles/page.php?id=202 There’s even 3 paragraphs on drying your rope!
