The December pre-season winter trip was designed for that breed  of hard core climber who likes to push the limits (or just fancies a week off work…)

We travelled to the digs in Laggan on Sunday (following Saturday night courtesy of Hotel Northlink) via Perth to collect a very small and silly boat for Peter (I think he’s morphing into a Kayaker). The usual round of cafes and shops was done before retiring to the digs for a well earned roast mutton dinner.

Now the sites a bit more stable and we know it works well, we’ll be adding new features gradually. If there’s anything you’d like to see or use then please let us know and we’ll see what we can do!

For now, we’ve added weather and tides info. Clicking the ‘+’ icon on the bottom right of the screen will now bring up a 5 day MET office forecast and tide times for Lerwick and Hillswick.

We’ve waited long enough now for it to go wrong again, so we’ll announce that we’ve fixed the recent issues! Thanks to all those who emailed or posted on the forum to help us work out what was going wrong.

We’ve also added a new section for videos so take a look at that and get some clips next time you’re out!

You may have noticed some problems with the site over the last few days. We’re working to fix them but unfortunately they seem to be issues beyond our control. With a bit of luck persistence and probably a lot more frustration, we’ll get there eventually.

In the meantime, sorry, and bear with us!

I’ve added a few of the club trips back onto the website now. They used to be on the old website but had to delete them because of space in the end. It’d be great if people could add in photos or galleries if they have them, as I don’t have all the photos. Its best just to add the best photos rather than every single one. Duplicates / similar photos will get deleted so the galleries don’t get too bloated.

Ones I’m missing are:

• Peaks Trip 2010
• Winter Trip 2011
• Winter Trip 2010 (was there one?)
• Fetlar Weekender? Any pics from this?

I’ve added a gallery page for each of these so get uploading! If I’ve missed one, then let me know and I’ll get a gallery created.

It’d be great for people to use these news posts a bit more. Anyone can add news, and you can post links to pictures and videos too and when we publish the news we’ll get them to display in the post, rather than just the link. Registered users can post comments on news items – a great alternative to the forum…
